For another comparison, let’s compare Germany with the UK (2020):
-We can see that in the UK there are a small number dermatologists for the population, whereas in Germany there are a lot more.
-Most of the dermatologists are hospital-based, work for the NHS in the UK, whereas in Germany, 80% are in the private sector.
-We have universal free healthcare with the National Health Service, although there are private provision as well, whereas in Germany you have Statutory Health Insurance with over a hundred insurance providers.
-There’s also a lot of further heterogeneity of practice and IT in countries such as Germany, with over 200 patient-data management systems in practice, whereas in the UK we have a much lower level of heterogeneity in the practice and IT used.
