Why do Teledermatology in the US ?

  • In the United States, there are actually enough physicians and resources, but they’re inequitably distributed. And there’s a lot of ways that people may not have access:
    • Geographical distance.
    • We may not have certain subspecialty care in rural settings for instance.
    • Time constraints: just because dermatologist exists doesn’t mean that you’re able to take time off of work school, childcare, or maybe you are able to get an appointment, but there isn’t a spot for like three or four months, or if that.
    • Insurance, without insurance, even you may not be able to seek care, or maybe you’re limited in the options that you have.
